If you store your mortar bombs in a trench and it rains they get soaked. You then have to lay them out in the sun to dry. The real error of course is laying them out in view of every passing soldier from the FST and then being in earshot when said soldiers freely give their unbiased (?) opinion on the wisdom – or not- of such a cock up. Observations relating to trade tests and bananas spring to mind.
