Here lie the remains of the RAF pilot (Flt Lt Owen Watkinson RAF), sealed into the rockface, who died when his Venom aircraft crashed near Sayq during a sortie in the Jebel Akhdar War in August 1958. (The grave is known to the War Graves Commission).

On 30th August 2008, the 50th Anniversary of his death was marked by a visiting group who noted a rebuild of the rocks surrounding the grave, which also did not include the cross as shown above. Some questionable aircraft parts had been placed nearby which were most definitely not there when the above photograph was taken.Â
